Scuba Diving
Nothing more peaceful than being 75 feet under.

San Salvador, The Bahamas
Best part of San Salvador? Almost no tourism on the island. There is a French Club Med but they rarely leave the club’s grounds. I was able to go with a Northeastern University Geology class. The diving was fantastic. On the north and east sides of the island are steep drop offs to depths of 6000 feet with absolutely stunning wall diving.

Dahab, Egypt
Couldn’t pass up the chance to dive the Red Sea while traveling in the Middle East. The desert is ridiculously hot and the shower water is salty but the water is crystal clear with a viz of 150+ feet. The food is delicious but whatever you do, leave the ice OUT of your soda!

Lighthouse Reef (2005)
Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands
This island defines turquoise water. Only had 2 days of diving–not nearly enough time to discover what Provo has to offer. Snorkeling the shallower reefs (3-10 feet) was just as exciting as the dives.
Critters: Caribbean Reef Shark, Green Sea Turtle, Sting Rays, Caribbean Spiny Lobster, Nurse Shark, Nassau Grouper and all your regular reef fish.
